An evening of World Flute Music with Gary Stroutsos. Come on a musical journey as Gary's solo performances of meditative soundscapes create a spirit of place among us all.

The concert will benefit St. Mary's Living Supplies Closet. There is no admission charge for the concert, but donations to the Living Supply Closet will be greatfully accepted.

Gary Stroutsos is a world acclaimed storyteller and flute player. HIs music can be heard on over 40 CDs as well as Ken Burn’s Lewis and Clark documentary, “Corps of Discovery.” He has performed at the White House and toured extensively weaving his tales of native history and ancient flutes with mesmerizing melodies from his vast collection of instruments. He is well-versed in jazz, Native American and Asian compositions and will share his vision of the power of music to unify, heal and illustrate.

On Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m., world flute artist and storyteller Gary Stroutsos will present a tribute to the tradition of song and story in the Zuni, Navajo and Salish cultures. The event will include a showing of "Remembering the Songs," - a 30-minute film offering a glimpse of the music-makers of the Diné, Zuni, and Salish communities. Stroutsos will play his traditional American Indian made flutes and answer questions following the presentation.
